After sharing the annual lectures at the Greek Bible College this spring, this fall commenced our study of Johannine Theology and Literature in the International Student Program (ISP):
Our course featured 28 class sessions on the Gospel of John, followed by a 12 session survey of John's epistles and Revelation. Our study of John's Gospel included prominent Johannine themes (e.g., light and darkness, truth and testimony, etc.) and key theological lessons from John's writings. At the end of the course, students will have their final essay on the Doctrines of Grace in the Gospel of John (Steward 1998), with an opportunity for sustained reflection on the message of salvation in John. It was a joy to return to the Bible College as a regular visiting professor this time around, and it was a special privilege to work with such a tight-knit group of students in our class discussions! We had a smaller group this year, which helped us foster some truly profound and encouraging discussions in areas that students had not previously explored. Many of our discussions revolved around the themes of God's sovereignty and human responsibility, and the Lord has been exceedingly gracious to open up new vistas of theological contemplation for our class this year. Solus Christus –– Sola Gratia –– Soli Deo Gloria! In Christ, TJM
